Monica is the owner and director at Comfort Counselling & Wellness! She was born and raised in Fredericton. She is a Licensed Counselling Therapist and also a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Monica's vision for counselling in Fredericton involves a holistic, accepting, caring and open environment. Monica identifies as a queer and sex positive therapist! She strives to make people feel comfortable in therapy while also feeling understood and validated.
Monica has been in the mental health field for 6 years and sees a variety of different people for various reasons. She specializes in treating trauma (sexual, childhood, military, accidents, relationships etc), OCD and sex therapy (kink therapy, non-monogamy, polyamory, sexual dysfunction in all sexs, relationship therapy, couples counselling etc). She is also trained in treating personality disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, eating disorders, self-esteem, ART therapy etc. Monica uses a variety of counselling approaches and prefers to tailor therapeutic approach to the clients needs.
She is currently enrolled in the Comprehensive Sexology Program through the Buehler Institute and working towards her accreditation through the American Association of Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
In her spare time, Monica loves to spend time with her family, cross-stitch and get involved with the queer community.

Caroline has been a social worker since 2010 and has been offering therapy services to school-age children and youth since 2018. She offers in person and online services. Most of her experience has been working on various mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, emotional distress, and self-harming. She also enjoys working with families on communication, parenting, sleep hygiene, and challenges related to transitions such as separation, divorce, blended families, and military relocations.
In her practice, she uses strengths-based approaches and draws from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Mindfulness. She also offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)!
Caroline understands the difficulty of seeing your child struggle with their mental health and she would love to be able to help your family in developing safe coping strategies and offer a listening ear to hear your concerns.

Laurie Beth is a Reiki Master/Teacher and Transformative Empowerment Coach at Comfort Counselling & Wellness. Growing up in Jemseg, NB, she is the youngest of 9 siblings with deep New Brunswick roots and a strong Scottish heritage. Along with having her Holy Fire and Usui Reiki attunements, Laurie also holds a Master of Education degree in Adult Education and a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies from Renaissance College.
Laurie Beth has been using Reiki as part of her own self care practice since 2015. Since then, she has embraced Reiki at the Master Teacher level, offering both Usui and Holy Fire Reiki. She assists others on their healing journey by sharing her gentle reiki energy and transformative coaching in one-on-one sessions (in person and distance) as well as group reiki sessions. She is also a skilled and intuitive group facilitator with a keen interest in life-long learning and personal best development. Laurie Beth believes that reiki and other energy modalities in combination with counselling and talk therapies offer a holistic approach to your healing journey. She works mostly with adults of all ages and also offers Emotion Coding and Access Energetic Facelift (full body energetic healing session).
In her spare time, Laurie Beth enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dogs. For her own downtime, she engages in knitting and knit-design, meandering sea-side beaches looking for treasures, and reading. Laurie Beth also acts as a coach and mentor with adults who are enrolled in post-secondary studies.

Julie was born and raised here in Fredericton, NB. She began working as an admin in 2019. Prior to working with Comfort Counselling Julie worked at Adica Wellness for 5 years. She also studied Hairstyling at Atlantic Hairstyling Academy as well as many years working in customer service. Her extensive experience helps her provide efficient, organized and friendly first contact with guests. She loves being part of a close-knit team, as well assuring clients and colleagues’ schedules go as smooth as possible.
Outside of work Julie loves all things crafting, spending time outside, also is well known for her love of all animals. She’s always up for trying new things to stay active and move her body whether it be walking, yoga, biking or hiking.
Pippa - Our therapy dog
This is our therapy dog, Pippa! She is well known for her big personality and offering comfort to clients despite only being 4lbs! You can find her in the office but most often cuddled up on Monica's lap under a blanket.
