Monica Smyth (She/Her) - Director/LCT/CCC

BA, B.Ed, MA (Counselling Psychology)

Monica is the owner and director at Comfort Counselling & Wellness! She was born and raised in Fredericton. She is a Licensed Counselling Therapist and also a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Monica's vision for counselling in Fredericton involves a holistic, accepting, caring and open environment. She strives to make people feel comfortable in therapy while also feeling understood and validated.

Monica has been in the mental health field for 5 years and sees a variety of different people for various reasons. She specializes in treating trauma (sexual, childhood, military, accidents, relationships etc), OCD and sex therapy (kink therapy, non-monogamy, polyamory, sexual dysfunction, relationship therapy, couples counselling etc). Monica uses a variety of counselling approaches and prefers to tailor therapeutic approach to the clients needs. 

In her spare time, Monica loves to spend time with her family, cross-stitch and get involved with the queer community. 

Caroline Price (She/Her) 

 MSW, RSW, BSW

(Bilingual - French/English)


Caroline has been a social worker since 2010 and has been offering therapy services to school-age children and youth since 2018. She offers in person and online services. Most of her experience has been working on various mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, grief and loss, emotional distress, and self-harming. She also enjoys working with families on communication, parenting, sleep hygiene, and challenges related to transitions such as separation, divorce, blended families, and military relocations.

In her practice, she uses strengths-based approaches and draws from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Mindfulness. She also offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)!

Caroline understands the difficulty of seeing your child struggle with their mental health and she would love to be able to help your family in developing safe coping strategies and offer a listening ear to hear your concerns.

Julie MacCallum (She/Her)

 LCT-C, M.Ed


 Julie has over 20 years experience with teaching, coaching, consulting and counselling youth and adults. She holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from UNB. Julie is also a certified Naturotherapist and Hypnotherapist!  Over the years, she has had the opportunity to work with, and support, people with a variety of needs and struggles.

She provides a relaxing and empathetic environment with a solution focused approach.  With the help of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused and Strength Based therapy, and mindfulness techniques she will help you realize you can make changes, heal and grow. You don't have to struggle alone. She believes that clients and counsellors can work together to uncover their existing strengths and learn tangible tools for their mental well being. Julie offers in person and virtual services and is currently accepting new clients.

Laurie Beth Fulton (She/Her) 

Usui and Holy Fire Reiki, Master/Transformative Empowerment Coach

B.Phil./ M.Ed (Adult Ed.)


Laurie Beth is a Reiki Master/Teacher and Transformative Empowerment Coach at Comfort Counselling & Wellness. Growing up in Jemseg, NB, she is the youngest of 9 siblings with deep New Brunswick roots and a strong Scottish heritage. Along with having her Holy Fire and Usui Reiki attunements, Laurie also holds a Master of

Education degree in Adult Education and a Bachelor of Philosophy degree in Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies from Renaissance College. 


Laurie Beth has been using Reiki as part of her own self care practice since 2015. Since then, she has embraced Reiki at the Master Teacher level, offering both Usui and Holy Fire Reiki. She assists others on their healing journey by sharing her gentle reiki energy and transformative coaching in one-on-one sessions (in person and distance) as well as group reiki sessions. She is also a skilled and intuitive group facilitator with a keen interest in life-long learning and personal best development. Laurie Beth believes that reiki and other energy modalities in combination with counselling and talk therapies offer a holistic approach to your healing journey. She works mostly with adults of all ages and also offers Emotion Coding and Access Energetic Facelift (full body energetic healing session).


In her spare time, Laurie Beth enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dogs. For her own downtime, she engages in knitting and knit-design, meandering sea-side beaches looking for treasures, and reading. Laurie Beth also acts as a coach and mentor with adults who are enrolled in post-secondary studies.

Shannon Gallagher (She/Her) 

MACP, CCC, RCC, LCT-C 

Shannon offers an integrative approach to therapy that is tailored specifically to her clients' needs and likes. She uses Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, love languages, and Trauma-Focused primarily.

Shannon specializes in working with clients who have chronic illnesses, couples therapy, trauma therapy and sex therapy. She also has experience with treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, divorce, relationship issues and has a keen interest in working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. 

Shannon wants you to know that she's been exactly where you are, looking for support that would help her learn new ways of managing new life circumstances and healthy coping strategies. Her main goal as a therapist is to make sure that people not only get the support they deserve but also the support they need to get through challenges that even those closest to us cannot always help with.

Jodhi Wood-Gaudet (She/Her)

My name is Jodhi Wood-Gaudet. I am originally from PEI but I moved to Fredericton in 2021. My practice models stem from a culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed, person-centred approach. This means I welcome clients of all backgrounds and treat each client with respect. I use skills and tools from various modalities including Narrative, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion focused, Gestalt, and Humanistic therapies.


My aim is to create a welcoming place to explore emotions, thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Each person has their own story and I enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of my clients and supporting them in a way that feels comfortable for them. Kris Kelsey (She/They)

BA, MA, LCT-C, CCC

Kris is an experienced licensed counselling therapist candidate who has worked in an Employee Benefits Program as a crisis counsellor for more than two years. They offer both online and in-person appointments. Kris has dealt with a wide range of issues during their time working with crisis situations, including those associated with trauma. They have worked with personality-disordered populations, adolescents, and children, with a focus on anxiety, depression, adjustment and attachment disorders, as well as self-harming behaviour and suicidal ideation. Kris uses an integrative approach and creates personalized treatment plans that are tailored to each individual's specific needs and preferences, incorporating therapeutic practices from DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. 


Kris uses a client-focused approach that is customized for each individual, based on their identified needs and desires, to help them achieve their goals. Kris is passionate about joining clients on their journey and witnessing their growth.

Kieran Smyth (He/Him)

Office Manager

Kieran is our lovely Office Manager! He is at Comfort Counselling & Wellness 5 days a week helping you book appointments, answering your important phone calls and wheeling and dealing with insurance companies

Kieran wants you to know that he's only been late to work once. 

Pippa - Our therapy dog 

This is our therapy dog, Pippa! She is well known for her big personality and offering comfort to clients despite only being 4lbs! You can find her in the office but most often cuddled up on Monica's lap under a blanket.
